I’m laying in bed in out hotel and listening to my bride to be
Make her flower bouquet. The curtains are open, and all the rain
From the last few days is completely gone! It’s a stark blue sky,
So bright, not onesingle cloud in sight. Music is playing in our room
At Smyth hotel and 7 hours our wedding ceremony will begin!
It’s been a BUSY but incredible few months planning for this.
So much has been prepared and thought out, but today is all
About celebrating! We had an amazing dinner last night with
Our family and closest friends. So good! And tonight, even more
People will be there and we can’t wait!
It’s an amazing adventure we’re on, so many incredibly beautiful
Things have already surrounded our lives together…
The wonderful thing is there are so so so many more awaiting
Us as husband and wife! It’s almost time!!!
Ok, so we wanna hear what YOU wanna hear! Tell us your favorite track to hear at the wedding and we’ll add it to the playlist. Could be some Benny Goodman, Elvis Presley, Guns n Roses or Michael Jackson! Whatever track you LOVE TO DANCE TO, will get you Off The Wall and on your feet, let us know in the comments section below this photo and we’ll add it to our list and play it that night! Let’s hear it, gang!
Well, I can breathe a sigh of relief…I found a dress!
One thing’s for sure, I am glad to be done with wedding gown shopping. From making appointments, to wading through an assortment of poofball dresses, to having strange ladies assist me in the dressing room, to pushy salespeople. Blech. If you’ve been through it, I’m sure you know what I’m talking about.
But I found a dress that’s to my liking. No frilly ruffles, no poofball skirts. It makes me feel like a lady. A glamorous lady!! And that’s how I knew it was the one.
Now to find the accessories…
Although you can’t fathom it now in this 99 degree weather (!!!), there will be a time when temps are a cool 65 degrees and a light breeze plays about on the Manhattan streets. I was lucky enough to get not one, but TWO amazing suits for the wedding…and, well…just life in general. Men should wear suits, and I intend to start buying lots more starting now. Maybe 3 a year? Who knows, but all I know is the wedding suit from Barney’s makes me feel awesome when I tried it on! Hickey Freeman will do me well. The rehearsal dinner suit is from Odin, and it’s this great 1960’s type pattern, small grey dots on a light grey wool. Wonderful. They’re both currently being tailored (Barney’s screwed up the first time, so now I get a custom suit for the same price!) and my Odin suit should be done this week, and when the temps get a bit cooler, You bet your cute butt I’ll be rockin’ it to work! (ps, I’m the one with the trumpet
)
Get ready to step back in time with the charm of Michael Arenella and his Dreamland Quartet. We’ve been fortunate to see him play around Brooklyn and the famous Governor’s Island Jazz Picnic. We’re so excited to have Michael providing the cocktail entertainment for our wedding! Be prepared to be transported into the jazz-age era and cut a rug while you’re at it. Go check out his site for more info.
We’re lucky enough to be working with the wonderful Meghan at Cobblestone Catering. Check out her site here! We’ll have passed hors d’oeuvres and a buffet station, so be ready to grab some delicious food and a signature cocktail. But hurry, we need you out on that dance floor! W00P, is that THRILLER I hear playing???! jajajaj
